SILLANS LA CASCADE

Only a 4 minute drive or a wonderfull 25 minute walk from our holiday house you will find an authentic Provence village of Sillans La Cascade where older villagers still speak provencal; soulful; stunning waterfall half a mile from the village (or 300 yards upstream from our holiday house!!) 

Situated only 20 minutes from Lake Ste. Croix and 60 minutes from the coast, Sillans la Cascade is a beautiful little village. With its river, its wonderful shade, its waterfalls and the immense prairies, Sillans la Cascade has much to offer during your holiday.

The village has kept its special medieval aspect that, all huddled together, resembles a big farm with a central court. Inside one can admire the St. Etienne church (17th century.) with its pretty entry and stone facing, the ramparts with their towers, 11th century battlements and the castle which has been under renovation since the town took it over.

Don't miss the wonderful waterfall in Sillans la Cascade. A pleasant walk of 5 minutes, through beautiful woods of century old plane trees leads to this wonderful cascade of 42 meters high. It is the waters of the Bresque, joined by those of the source of the castle of Bresc and the valley of Ourc that rush into the swirling water of the little lake below.
